The Olivia Pattern

Hello friends!  I have a pattern today I think you’ll love.

Are you familiar with Jessica from ?  My guess is yes, if not I am certain if you have a pinterest board with the term “sewing” in it you no doubt have more than a few pins of her fabulous tutorials and adorable girls.  Really, their sweet cheeks are all over my pinterest boards. I had a chance to sew up her new as part of and I love how it turned out.

Olivia Top Pattern

It’s super versatile, a pleasure to sew, and so cute. The pattern itself is very well written with great step by step photos to take you through every detail.  I even learned a new trick for closing bias tape ends.  It comes in sizes 6m to 8, and in my favorite PDF format.  I can print off the size I want when I want and no tracing needed.  Love that.

Olivia Side

It’s perfect for showcasing great fabric, and I love that you have the chance to add a little detail with the buttons and placket.

Olivia Sleeve

The pattern has options for sleeveless, short, and elbow length which I did.  Instead of adding elastic, I just made a little box pleat and trimmed the sleeve edge with bias tape to match the collar.

Olivia Top

There is plenty of room in the bodice to make it great for play, and the back features the same gathering detail as the front.

Olivia Top and Dress

And she loves it.  I told her that if she wanted to wear it to school she’d have to take it off and save it for a day and there was some serious contemplation  – enjoy it now, or save it for later?  She decided to save it for school :).

I love this pattern, and I know it will be one that I pull out again this Summer to be made in a sleeveless.

You can get your , and while your there you have to check out her bib pattern – it’s called the .  Best bib ever!

(see what I mean? Those cheeks!!)

You can see the rest of – and you’ll meet some fabulous sewing blogs too!  I love pattern tours, the participants always have their own ways of adding their own personal touch.  I always learn something new.
